2009: Most played songs on my ipod

It's the end of the year and there's a ton of top 10 lists going around on the internet.  I had the idea of checking in with my ipod's most played list of songs that I added in '09.  This means that the song could have been released at another time, but I didn't discover it until this year.  I tend to get obsessed with a new album and put them on repeat.  For this reason, I'll only take the top song from an album and move onto another.

Here's the top 5:

1) Don't Let Me Stop You by Kelly Clarkson - This is def. one of the better power rock pop songs off of Kelly's All I Ever Wanted album.  For someone's who been through way too many partners for one year and held onto a few past expiry, this was a good song for me.

2) Touches You by Mika - Not added until September and yet it's #2 on my list.  Why?  Cuz it's soooo freakin' awesome.  Yes, it totally riffs on George Michaels, but who cares.  It's music.  In concert this last October, it was my favourite song and had the entire crowd dancing.

3) 4ever by Prince - So many people destroyed Prince's 3 album release (well 2 from him, one from his protege).  But like every other album released by an artist, there's a few great tracks on each album.  4ever is a story about waiting on a love, well forever. :)

All I Want To Do by Sugarland - This is a country song.  Which started my semi-renewed in country again.  It's an upbeat positive song about being in love sung with an awesome southern twang.

I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas - Unlike the rest of the list, I seriously can't stand this song now.  There was a time though, when it pulled me out of the blues and gave me faith that today would be a better day.

There you have it, my ipod's top 5 played songs of 2009.  Judging by this, I was craving some good times and love this year.  What was your top played song of 2009?

Hits and Misses Vids

There's been some vids lately that I have been hits and misses for me...

(I've no clue why youtube is being stupid these days and not allowing ppl to embed certain videos into other websites. So you'll have to click on the links to some of the following.)

MISSES

Pink's 'Please Don't Leave Me' is by far my favourite song off her last album, but I freakin hate the video. Like it could be all dramatic and cool and instead, it's just stupid. Check the link here. Again, love love love the song. It should've been single #2, but Sober was an interesting choice.

Kelly Clarkson's 'I Do Not Hook Up' is not one of my fav. songs off her album. But it was written by Katy Parry and that Kara chick from American Idol. In fact, Katy had recorded it, but it didn't get on her album. So jumping on that train, Kelly's released this song and it's burning up the charts. What is awful is the video, another one that makes no sense. Plus poor Kelly..she's gotten kinda big, so they don't really show more than her face in her vids these days. Check it out here.

HITS:

I'm in totally like w/ the 'Big Bang Theory', it's a sitcom on CBS and it's about geeks. So I never watched. But I downloaded the first season after watching an episode a few weeks ago. The show is freaking hilarious! Like I'm a sorta geek and it just makes me laugh. The one guy Sheldon doesn't get regular interactions, so it's fun watching him make fun of others or just not get why you can't be blunt 24/7.

Another pretty hilarious show is 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.' Simple premise, 3 friends that own a bar and the pretty girl that works there too. I've seen the first 3 and each time, it's just simple situations and revolves around getting laid. :P

Pretty much these days, we all need a good laugh and now I've got 2 more shows that fill that void.

What are some hits and misses for you these days?

I like these songs right now...

This is off Prince's new double album and it's just super sweet and awesome. Me likey!!!

I didn't really expect to like Lily Allen's new album, but I do. Then this song started with this awful country beat and I thought I'd definitely hate it. But nope, it's HILARIOUS!!!

I think this song sums up every relationship after it's over and you look back and realize that it wasn't meant to be and you've moved on.

The Black Eyed Peas are BACKKKKKK! They're experimenting with some new sounds and this one is definitely heavy on the dance beats. It's cool, cuz really there's not much vocals, just a lot to dance to. Lo and behold, it's #1 on the Billboard charts. Here's to trying something different and finding out that it can lead to huge success!!!

That's what I'm enjoying this week...how about you?
